Re: Field Day 2018 Photos

Good deal George. I noticed a few minors things that need modification.

(1) Remove the blurry photos, they do not add value.

(2) Delete duplicate pictures

(3) Contact Brent and get his photos. Especially important is the group staged photo with the dignitaries. That should be the splash page photo. Include our club callsign on the photo, date, and location (Loudon County EOC).

You might include a caption below the photo to ID the people in it, ask Brent to provide that information.

(4) Create a link on the side with a label called TLARC Events, and subcategorize them by year.

I will get you the photos from 2017 Field Day.

Keep up the great work.

Juan, AC6ZM

October 17, 2018 TLARC Meeting

George N2APB

(Posting for Brent ...)

Greetings members and friends of the Tellico Lake Amateur Radio Club. This note is to remind you that we have a TLARC meeting coming up on October the 17th. The gala evening will start with dinner at Lorenzo's Mexican Restaurant at 101 Cherokee Pl., Loudon at 5:30. If you would like to have dinner before the meeting, I would appreciate it if you would drop me a line or call so we can have the correct number of reservations. My phone is: 856-7477.

V.P. and Program Chairman Juan Lopez tells me that the program for the evening will be a presentation by George Heron (N2APB). The title of the presentation is " Portable Operations in the Field -- Setting up personal stations in parks, alongside rivers, in boats, on bicycles and in cars to catch a few quick Q's." Sounds like an entertaining and educational subject. The meeting will be at 7:00 at the Tellico Village Fitness Center.

Hope to see everybody there. Brent Martin, Secretary

Looking forward to your arrival.   All is well here.    We have been busy.    I finally pressure washed the Lanai and the outdoor furniture.    It is nice to have the lanai setup for the season.   Mary has been merging our Tellico home goods into our Villa.   I've continued to work on the garage organization.   Once we are fully settled in the we can work on the details for our travel plans, our sight seeing, National Parks etc.

See you soon,
Tom

Portable PSK station at Boy Scout JOTA event

George N2APB

FYI ... In light of our presentation of "Field Ops" at the meeting last week, I just had to share this feedback I got today from a ham whom I helped set up a PORTABLE DIGITAL STATION for the Boy Scouts JOTA.

See attached photo.  He's using a NUE-PSK Digital Modem (stand-alone PSK31, RTTY and Morse modem) being used with the station's Yaesu FT-xxx rig in the suitcase.

The NUE-PSK Digital modem was passed around during the meeting, and featured in the handout of the "Pedestrian Mobile" article from CQ Magazine.

======================

George, this summer you assisted me with some tips and new cables to create a PSK demonstration at JOTA. It went well! Thank you for your time. The scouts enjoyed it. I attached a pic of one of the set ups and scout using it. Thought you would like to see it your gear in action.
