Greetings,

Current winter weather advisory through Monday afternoon remains on track and unchanged. Focus will now switch to an additional weather system impacting the area Tuesday night through Thursday. Impacts will include periods of moderate to heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and potential for light snow accumulation in higher elevations. 

Current Watches, Warnings, or Advisories:

• Winter Weather Advisory: Remains in effect until 4PM this afternoon

What has changed: A second weather system will bring additional impacts Tuesday night through Thursday.

Primary Hazards

• Hazard:  Winds
  
• What: Wind gusts up to 40mph
  
• Where: Area Wide
  
• When: Wednesday

• Hazard: Mountain Wave Winds
  
• What:  Wind gusts between 60-70 mph, isolated higher gusts possible.
• Where: East Tennessee mountains and foothills
• When: Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday Morning
  

• Hazard: Rain
  
• What: Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall
• Where: Area Wide
• When: Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday

• Hazard:  Snow
  
• What: Light Snowfall accumulations
• Where: Higher elevations of East Tennessee mountains and southwest VA
• When: Wednesday Night through Thursday
